Competition Rules:

• Dogs may run once per division

• Handlers may enter multiple dogs

• If a dog handles, they will be automatically eliminated from the competition

• In the Advanced or Hunter stakes; white coat or hunt test gunners can be used, along with hidden guns. This is the judges choice. Puppy stake will use white coat only

• All marks will be on land

• Duck call, shot and throw for Puppy stake

• Shot and throw for Hunter and Advanced stakes

• Marks must be delivered back to the line

• No talking to the dog after the mark has been called for

• Dogs will be released by the judges

• Controlled breaks will be allowed

• No re-lining of the dog after the mark is throw

• Puppy and Hunter stakes, may be gently restrained

• Advanced stake dogs must be steady

• In case of a tie in the Advanced stake, a blind may be run

• Incase of a tie in the Puppy and/or Hunter stakes, a run off will take place

• Judges decisions are final

• Ribbon ceremony will be held after all divisions are complete

This seminar is required for all individuals interested in becoming an AKC Hunt Test judge and for current judges who have only ever attended one previous seminar in the past. It is also an excellent opportunity for handlers who are new to AKC Hunting Tests to review the rulebook and learn what is expected of handlers and dogs, as well as, learn about the types of set-ups they will run.
